Decorative pond liners

Decorative pond liners often are used to create bodies of water where none is provided by nature. Flexible membrane liners such as these have one function: to keep water in place. A little seepage, while not desirable, isn’t a big concern. In other cases, such as the following, higher grade geomembrane liners will be more appropriate.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources built a 190,000 square foot office/education center on the state fairgrounds in 2002.  An important design feature was a natural looking decorative pond, not free standing but wrapped around much of the building. The pond liner had to be attached to the base of the building and around a number of pillars.
